| What the herbs Do: |
| American herbalist have used Burdock (Arctium lappa) for the
treatment of arthritis for over 200 years because of its anti
inflammatory action. It also has a hypoglycemic action that has been
used to control blood sugar. Its composition is 75% fructo oligo
saccharides soluble fiber of which 45% inulin. It reduces liver damage
from toxic chemicals. |
| BioVin® supplies OPCs from grape seeds, plus anthocynanins and other
flavonoids found in grape skins known as "red wine polyphenols." It
also contains resveratrol. Proanthocyanidins have been shown to
strengthen capillaries; they help prevent platelet aggregation, thereby
preventing blood clots and other heart disease complications. Some
other functions of proanthocyanidins include enhancing Vitamin C
activity, improving varicose veins, preventing bruising, attacking free
radicals, and strengthening weak blood vessels. The OPC mode of free
radical action is a vitamin C-like effect in the regeneration of vitamin
E when the radical anions oxidize vitamin E. It enhancing capillary
elasticity and prevent excessive clumping of platelets. |
